Rev Ray’s November 25, 2021 Devotion
November 25, 2021, 9:28 AM

Since every day is Thanksgiving, what do we do with the holiday of Thanksgiving Day? I like to think of it as "High Thanksgiving." Perhaps today the prayers of people will be more than most days. Today, even people who ordinarily do not think about God are reminded where life comes from, and who holds it all together. Then it is a good day.

Shakespeare said, “God’s goodness has been great to thee… Never let day or night unhallowed pass but, still remember what the Lord has done,”

Can this be a day when there is a cease fire of all that is unkind? Shouldn’t we be singing, "O for a thousand tongues to sing our great Redeemer's praise?"  It has been said that God has two dwelling places: one in Heaven, and the other in the meek and thankful heart of people on earth.

I read in the book of Revelation that ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands of those in Heaven fall down before Christ to proclaim, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

“Power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing;” there are seven of these (seven is the number for perfection). They represent perfect worship. With what will we offer perfect praise to our Savior today? What words shall we speak to say, "thanks be to God?"

"Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that is in me adore him! All that hath breath, join with Abraham’s seed to adore him! Let the ‘amen’ sum all our praises again, now as we worship before him."

Grace, Peace; and a Happy Thanksgiving from Rev Ray and Pat
