"We have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love; and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them...we love Him (and each other) because He first loved us." -from 1st John 4

It was my first appointment at Garden-Keen Mountain, and we bought a hand puppet of a mouse's head. Pat took some of the boy's clothes (a flannel shirt, bibbed overalls, and cowboy boots) and made a puppet that could sit on my lap. We named him “Christopher the Church Mouse.”

Christopher would help me during the children's moment. He loved the children, and they seemed to love him. Some might say that a puppet has no ability to love, yet I know that it did. The reason he could is simple; he could love because the one who was in him loved and he could live because a living arm was in him.

Christopher is gone, and the children are grown, yet the love remains. On our own none of us can have the kind of love that Jesus displayed when He walked on the earth. When the Holy Spirit fills our life, then Love dwells in us; then we can Love as God loves.

I am convinced that when God wants to give a hug, a pat on the back, a hand of support, or a kind word; He will use the arms, hands, and tongue of one in whom he lives. As I think back in time, I realize how many things have come and gone, how many people have touched my life, and how true it is: The love of God that came through them remains.

Love Never Fails, Love never ends; it is a pearl of great price, the savor of salt, the illuminator of light, the liquid in the Water of Life, and wakening power of the dead. It is the changing force in hearts gone wrong, the restorer of our soul, the second chance, and hope that will never give up. Love has a Name that is above all other names: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Come, Lord Jesus and live in us again.

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
